Red Lipstick Could Be Dangerous To Your Child
“Since recent science suggests that there is truly no safe lead exposure for children and pregnant women, it is disturbing that manufacturers are allowed to continue to sell lead-containing lipsticks," according to Dr. Sean Palfrey, a professor of pediatrics and public health at Boston University and the medical director of Boston's Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. “Lead is a proven neurotoxin that can cause learning, language and behavioral problems such as lowered IQ, reduced school performance and increased aggression. Pregnant women and young children are particularly vulnerable to lead exposure, because lead easily crosses the placenta and enters the fetal brain where it can interfere with normal development.”

"The whole market is freaking out about [carbendazim] in orange juice when in reality they could be getting much larger, perfectly...legal, doses" in other foods, said Todd Fujimoto, a director at juice maker Leahy IFP. He said customers were asking for guarantees their juice didn't contain the fungicide.
The chemical, called carbendazim, is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency for use on apricots, bananas, cherries, grapes, peaches, pears and other crops. The EPA also approved its use on apples and allows for small amounts of it in apple juice.

Year Of Dragon Babies More Successful?
Asian immigrants to the United States born in the 1976 Year of the Dragon are more educated than comparable immigrants from non-dragon years. Asian-American “dragon babies” born in 1976 have on average 0.34 years more education than Asians born in non-dragon years. When only comparing Asian immigrant dragon babies to Asian immigrants born in other years, the advantage increases to about half a year of education. In contrast, no advantage is noticeable for children in the general U.S. population born in a Year of the Dragon.
The educational advantage of “dragon children” is likely due to the care and planning of the parents, rather than the year they were born, the authors suggest.
