Yoga unites the three treasures of Tai Chi -- Beauty, Love, Spirit -- however, joining the upper and lower teeth is the simplest path to understanding.

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is this nation’s oldest and largest Latino organization, founded in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 24, 1929 and throughout its history has committed itself to the principles that Latinos have equal access to opportunities in employment, education, housing and healthcare. LULAC advocates for the well-being of, but not exclusively of, Hispanics throughout our country; and whereas, safe drinking water is a necessity for life; he purpose of a public water supply is to supply water to the entire community which is composed of people with varying health conditions, in varying stages of life, and of varying economic status; not to forcibly mass medicate the population which is a civil rights violation; and whereas, fluoridation is mass medication of the public through the public water supply and current science shows that fluoridation chemicals pose increased risk to sensitive subpopulations, including infants, the elderly, diabetics, kidney patients, and people with poor nutritional status; and whereas, minority communities are more highly impacted by fluorides as they historically experience more diabetes and kidney disease.

LULAC commends efforts by organizations that oppose forced mass medication of the public drinking supplies using fluorides that are industrial grade, toxic waste by-products which contain contaminants (arsenic, lead, mercury) which further endanger life; and LULAC supports efforts by all citizens working to stop forced medication through the public water system because it violates civil rights.

Claims that boosting levels of enzymes called sirtuins can combat age-related diseases and even increase human lifespan have suffered a serious blow. Research in recent years has suggested that resveratrol, a compound found in grape skin and red wine, can lengthen life – in non-human animals, at least – and that it does so by boosting sirtuin levels. Sirtuin is also boosted by calorie restriction – an extreme diet option known to extend the lifespan of lab animals.

The companies involved with the old research now try to recover their profits on supplements and drugs based on resveratrol by claiming preliminary results show success in combating inflammation.

Dietary Deficiencies Caused By Prescription Drugs
Medication-induced nutrient depletion can occur though several mechanisms; for example, some drugs may interfere with the absorption of nutrients, while others may lead to increased excretion. Some of these effects can be significant, especially when the medications are taken for long periods.
The Moringa plant, native to northern India, has been called the "tree of life" and its use is spreading in Africa, advocates say, where it can prevent diseases and malnutrition and even boost development by creating job opportunities. Some say very soon, the cultivation of the Moringa tropical plant in Sierra Leone may likely put some medical practitoners out of business.

It is being seen as a cure-all and many folks in the community are no longer visiting the local clinics as they are now using either moringa teabags or sprinkling the powder on their daily meals.

Curcumin, the main component in the spice turmeric, can work in the mouths of patients with head and neck malignancies and reduce activities that promote cancer growth. It not only affects the cancer by inhibiting a critical cell signaling pathway, it also affects the saliva itself by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines within the saliva.

Turmeric is a naturally occurring spice widely used in South Asian and Middle Eastern cooking and has long been known to have medicinal properties, attributed to its anti-inflammatory effects. Previous studies have shown it can suppress the growth of certain cancers. In India, women for years have been using turmeric as an anti-aging agent rubbed into their skin, to treat cramps during menstruation and as a poultice on the skin to promote wound healing.

The biggest problem with curcumin is that the mouth and teeth turn bright yellow. But yellow teeth might be preferred over white if chemotherapy can be avoided.

National Association for Sport and Physical Education is working to make physical education class a physically and emotionally safe place. They want to motivate kids to want to be fit. Which means those twice-yearly fitness exams you may have faced as a kid in gym class - run a mile, do some chin-ups, shuttle run, hop on the very public scale - have been mostly phased out in favor of a kinder, gentler approach.

In the last three decades Venezuela has won more beauty titles than any other country: six Miss Universes, five Miss Worlds and six Miss Internationals. The demand for cosmetic enhancing plastic surgery is such that banks offer attractive loans for procedures, with slogans such as: "Have your plastic on our plastic." People here, from all walks of life, will get into debt for a pair of stilettos or a boob job. Whatever it takes.

Using something like body image skills training can be helpful for smoking cessation, because it provides skills and tools to help people feel better about themselves and not turn to smoking for weight control. Ten percent more women in the body image class stuck with quitting smoking after 1 week and lost more weight than the exercise group.

Your Brain Needs Sugar, Keep It Coming Steady
Brain imaging scans show that when glucose levels drop, an area of the brain known to regulate emotions and impulses loses the ability to dampen desire for high-calorie food. The key to not craving high calorie foods seems to be eating healthy foods that maintain glucose levels. The brain needs its sugar.

Exercise Makes Muscles And Brain Stronger
Research findings suggest that exercise training increases the number of mitochondria in the brain much like it increases mitochondria in muscles. The study authors note that this increase in brain mitochondria may play a role in boosting exercise endurance by making the brain more resistant to fatigue, which can affect physical performance. They also suggest that this boost in brain mitochondria could have clinical implications for mental disorders, making exercise a potential treatment for psychiatric disorders, genetic disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Kids Eat More Healthy Food When Toy Included
A study found that children -- preschoolers, ages 2 to 5 -- can be influenced to prefer a healthy food choice -- in this case a meal of soup, mixed vegetables and milk -- when a toy is seen as one that is missing from their collectible set. The study tells us that the inclusion of a collectible toy influences the children's perceptions of how the food is going to taste, and whether they will like it. The studies back up a growing body of evidence that children's perceptions and food choices can be guided through the repeated exposure of certain types of food.
