Tooth Whiteners Recalled Over Dangerous Peroxide Concentrations
A handful of do-it-yourself teeth whiteners have been recalled from the Australian market after reports they caused harmful injuries such as headaches and chemical burns to the mouth.
Nine do-it-yourself teeth-whitening products, supplied by three different brands, including White My Bite, WhiteSmile and DaVinci Elite, were recalled by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission because they contained unsafe concentrations of peroxide.
In addition to chemical burns to gums and the mouth, other reported injuries have included blistering or ulceration of the mouth and throat, tooth sensitivity, marbled or unnaturally colored teeth, tissue tingling and headaches.

The Global Coherence Monitoring System is the technological component of the Global Coherence Initiative, which the nonprofit Institute of HeartMath launched in 2009 to investigate the relationship between the earth’s energetic field environment, collective human emotions, mass behaviors and planetary changes.

Electromagnetic fields generated by the heart permeate every cell and may act as a synchronizing signal for the body in a manner analogous to information carried by radio waves. The heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the body. The electrical field as measured in an electrocardiogram (ECG) is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the brain waves recorded in an electroencephalogram (EEG). According to legend, Mr. Li Qing Yun (1677–1933) was a Chinese medicine physician, herbal expert, qigong master, and tactical consultant. He was said to have lived through nine emperors in the Qing Dynasty to be 256 years old.
His May 1933 obituary in Time Magazine, titled “Tortoise-Pigeon-Dog,” revealed Li’s secrets of longevity: “Keep a quiet heart, sit like a tortoise, walk sprightly like a pigeon and sleep like a dog.”

On June 29, 2011, the Wyoming Department of Health was notified of two laboratory-confirmed cases of Campylobacter jejuni enteritis among persons working at a local sheep ranch. During June, two men had reported onset of symptoms compatible with campylobacteriosis. Both patients had diarrhea, and one also had abdominal cramps, fever, nausea, and vomiting. One patient was hospitalized for 1 day. Both patients recovered without sequelae. During June, both patients had participated in a multiday event to castrate and dock tails of 1,600 lambs. Both men reported having used their teeth to castrate some of the lambs. Among the 12 persons who participated in the event, the patients are the only two known to have used their teeth to castrate lambs.
